
Best Fudge Sauce
My mom made 2 sauces that were absolutely awesome! Hot fudge sauce for Ice cream and Caramel Sauce for popcorn. Really though, wouldn’t both be good on ice cream or anything for that matter? She always added nuts to her fudge sauce but you don’t have too. Walnuts or Pecans crushed would be a perfect addition. I think my mom mostly ate these sauces with a spoon, LOL. I’ve been making both of these recipes my whole life and they never disappoint! Enjoy….
Best Fudge Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 4 oz Packages of unsweetened chocolate
- 4 tbl butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cups sugar
Instructions

In a sauce pot, over medium- low heat, melt butter and chocolate. Don't leave the pan, chocolate can burn really quickly and there is no recovering from that! Add Sugar, milk and cream and stir to combine. Keep stirring until smooth. Add vanilla and a pinch of salt.
Martha Tip: Always add the vanilla in at the end. If you add too soon it will evaporate and the flavor will be less intense.
