Fiesta Turkey Bean Burgers with Sriracha Mayonnaise
These turkey black bean burgers are delicious and easy to make, promise! My favorite part is schmearing the Sriracha mayo all over the bun (gluten free of course) and then topping it with the bean burger. Sauté up some onions and slice a nice ripe tomato to go on top or add some sliced avocado for a California style burger. Sure is good!
Fiesta Turkey Bean Burger with Sriracha Mayonnaise
Ingredients
- 1 15 oz. can Black Beans
- 1/2 cup Oats Gluten Free for me!
- 2 Tbl ketsup
- 1 16 pz package ground turkey
- 1 Tbl Fiesta Lime Mrs. Dash
- 2 shakes or more hot pepper flakes optional
- salt to taste
- spray oil for frying pan
- 1/2 cup good mayonnaise
- 2-3 quirts Sriracha hot sauce -to your liking
Instructions
-
Drain black beans and mash in a bowl separately, you could use a potato masher or the back of a fork. Add all of the rest of the ingredients to the beans and mix to combine. Let sit for 20 minutes so the oats can absorb some moisture.
-
Form into 8 or so medium sized patties. Spray pan with oil and cook burgers on medium heat, 3 minutes per side making sure not to move them too much. Bean burgers are a little more crumbly than regular burgers. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy.
-
For the Sriracha Mayo. Dole out about 1/2 cup or more of Mayo and add 2-3 good squirts of Sriracha to the mayo. Taste as you go and make it as hot or not as you like it. The Sriracha adds an awesome smoky, garlicky heat that is unbeatable!!
Martha Tip:
If you find your Turkey Black Bean burgers are a little too crumbly, after you have flipped them once add 1/3 of a cup of water to the pan and cover. You are pretty much poaching the burger but the moisture from the water and steam will firm up the burger nicely. Lightly press the center with a spoon and if it is firm they are ready.
