Grammy's Caramel Sauce


Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbls butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a sauce pan then add the sugar and cream.  Stir over medium -low heat until all the sugar is melted.  Add the Vanilla and salt.

    Keep the flame on medium-low and let the sauce reduce a bit to a nice thickened state.  The caramel should coat the spoon. 

    Pour over popcorn or ice cream or eat with a spoon!
